Our mission is to produce powerful images that give our clients creative, strategic solutions to meet their business communications needs. We also deliver excellent client service, building long-term relationships with many businesses. We have been serving our clients for nearly 30 years. We offer much more than commercial photography expertly shot in studio and on location. We offer business expertise and experience to maximize the investment our clients make in marketing their products and services. Our professional photographers are multi-talented. We handle a variety of shoots in our studio with expert lighting techniques. We also travel with ease throughout California, across the country and around the world to develop the images our clients need to tell their stories effectively and consistently in all their markets. We are versatile. We effecently orchestrate photo shoots requiring only one camera. We also direct large-scale productions of photographic images shot by a team of photographers and edited onsite for same-day audio-visual presentations.

About Tom Hinckley

Studio 1501 President Tom Hinckley is passionate about the power of imagery to tell a compelling story. He understands the importance of a strong brand image to fuel his clients’ success in a competitive business environment. A native of Southern California, Tom has had an interest in photography and graphics since childhood. He attended the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography and graduated with a degree in Commercial Photography in 1988. After graduation, Tom remained in Santa Barbara, working as the staff photographer for the City Parks and Recreation Department. In 1989 he returned to the Los Angeles area to launch a commercial photography service at an established illustrative studio. In 1990 he started his own business, Studio 1501, specializing in commercial photography. He combined his knowledge of traditional techniques with the latest technology in digital imaging equipment to become one of the first photographers to operate a digital photography studio. In an effort to provide additional diversity Tom became an FAA Licensed drone pilot and has operated a variety of drones for photography and video for more than 12 years. Today he is in the vanguard of photographers who offer clients a choice of high quality images in studio or on location, as well as concept-to-completion management of graphics projects. Tom’s combination of extensive experience and outstanding people skills makes him a strong business leader who exceeds his clients’ expectations.
